The Insights Director, Advanced Analytics for Frito Lay North America is focused on harmonizing metrics, scorecarding and forecasting across the business. The role additionally entails efforts in advancing modeling and analytics capabilities across growth drivers, innovation and pricing with the objective of unlocking efficiency in how quickly the business can identify, prioritize and act upon opportunities for growth.
The Insights Director must demonstrate the ability to become a trusted adviser and thought leader to the business. This individual will operate across a highly-matrixed, multinational organization and help drive the organization’s efforts to drive its strategic advantage through more in-depth analysis of structured, semi-structured and unstructured data. This individual will be someone with an inherent passion for data and data driven thinking, adept at extracting patterns from volumes of data to drive strategy and operational efficiencies. Additionally, s/he will be tasked with building new predictive science capabilities and greater utilization to drive proactive rather reactive behaviors to advance the business. This individual will be a combination of researcher and business consultant; someone with an inherent passion for researching and identifying new demand science techniques, but, with a consultative bias towards action and implementation. Collaboration and the ablility to work cross-functionally to contribute to the development of multi-year brand and portfolio growth strategies while also developing best practices to unlock efficiencies in the teams’ day-to-day decisions is critical. Finally, the Insights Director will present findings in multiple senior leadership forums so strong presentation skills paired with Executive Presence is a must.
While there are many accountabilities specified below, most importantly, this person must passionately seize a role of influence across a network of extended commercial and brand marketing partners and passionately develop best practice tools/approaches to simplify diagnosing, forecasting and then acting upon metrics that matter most to our business.
Other accountabilities include:
Translate advantaged insights into strategic and tactical recommendations that drive business growth, including working closely with brand marketing and consumer insights to leverage analytics. Present key findings to marketing leadership to help influence overall investment and creative decisions across the portfolio and within 10+ different brands.
In partnership with Forecasting Vendor, coordinate analytical tasks, which include the evaluation of the business problem, analytical methodology, validation, documentation and presentation of findings and recommendations
Drive several aspects of total portfolio analytics for integration into key learnings across brands and categories and ensuring we are optimizing for what is best for our portfolio of brands.
Support and lead various other analytics initiatives including additional measurement assessments across the portfolio to further optimize investments. In addition, help to support key strategic business initiatives such as strategic business planning.
Provide subject matter expertise to other divisions to advance Global Insights Initiatives and help drive overall Global Insights agenda
Manage day to day relationship with Analytics Vendors.
Deliver predictive modeling to help drive forward-looking investment choices.
Demonstrate broad understanding of how various cross-functional partners leverage advanced analytics tools.
Manage one or more direct reports
Bachelor’s Degree; Advanced Degree preferred
7+ years as an analytics professional preferred
4+ years of relevant marketing research
Experience with a consumer packaged goods company preferred
Experience setting and leading cross-methodology insights agendas, well versed in research methodologies and possesses the ability to apply research to address business challenges.
Expertise in IRI/Nielsen scanner and panel data
Experience with advanced analytics using statistical modeling techniques like multi-variate regression analyses and analysis of co-variance.
Experience with forecasting

Strong influencing, communication and storytelling skills
Strong strategic thinking and problem solving
